Boss Yo-kai (Japanese: ボス妖怪 Bosu Yōkai) are powerful enemy Yo-kai which hold the distinction of not being befriendable with the player, with counted exceptions.
Most of the chapters in the Yo-kai Watch video games end with a battle with one of these bosses, and they are registered in the last few pages of the Yo-kai Medallium, just prior to the Legend Pages; however, they show no class, as well as no rank and they do not pronounce their name when displayed.
Some of the Boss Yo-kai from the first game were given recruitable Friend Forms in Yo-kai Watch 2, giving them a tribe and a ranking, but those forms are not considered Boss Yo-kai.
