The strongest oni ever born. His power is so great that it needs no explanation. None. At all. He is also a freakin’ boss! If you get him at Level 99, you will be unstoppable!
As a Yokai imprisoned behind the eight seals of the other Crank-a-kai exclusive Yokai, it can be said that Gilgaros is the most terrifying Yo-kai of all. However, upon his release, he is friendly enough to give his medal to the player, something no other Oni of his calibur would do until the second game, indicating he is at least thankful to have been released.

Yo-kai Medallium Bio: The strongest oni ever born. His power is so great that it needs no explanation. None. At all. He is also a freakin’ boss! If you get him at Level 99, you will be unstoppable!
Gilgaros strongly resembles his Boss Yo-kai counterpart Ogralus in that he is an imposing figure with clawed limbs, a fang-filled smile, two horns jutting from his head, and a red ponytail. He carries a huge spiked club. Unlike Ogralus, however, Gilgaros is a yellow-gold color and wears a purple scarf that matches his loincloth.
TRIVIA
- He is the most powerful Yo-kai in the first Yo-kai Watch game.
- Even though the Yo-kai Medallium states him to be the most powerful oni, he is not the most powerful. Gargaros, Ogralus, and Orcanos have higher stats than he does, sadly.
- Gilgaros’s use of lightning as his elemental affinity is reminiscent of Lum, an Oni with fulgerkinesis and main female lead of Urusei Yatsura.
- “Gilgaros” is derived from “Gilded”, meaning “Covered in gold”, and Gargaros.
- “Yamabuki Oni” shares the same naming scheme as the Terror Time Oni brother Bosses. “Yamabuki” is described to be a “bright golden yellow” in hue.
